WISE BOY NOTCH LOOKING ONTO THE FUTURE.
My friends Looking into Notch and his pride we now agree this is the best collation of males we had ever experience in the mara.
Notch and his five boys had taken over two prides so far with lost of cubs born under there rign love it so much.
ONE OF NOTCH BOYS.
With the drought problems in the country Notch and his two prides the paradise pride, and Ridge pride, the reason being they are both in the middle of both prides at mara river.
The future of this prides will always depend on Notch and his boys though Notch is very old now it will be had for him to compete with his growing sons Notch will go down to the bottom of the high ricky very soon if not started going down hill.
We all love notch the best of the best we had for a long time.
LTTLE NOTCH THINKING SOON I WILL RULE THIS KINGDOM.

I have a couple of questions Jackson.
You have mentioned a couple of times that notch is getting old but is still in charge of all of his boys. How old is notch and what will happen when notch is not in charge of his boys anymore? You also said a month or so ago, that the boys were possibly heading for the marsh pride? is this not the case anymore?
Hi Jackson, following on from Crusade's question about Notch's age. I recall first seeing him in Big Cat diary in 2004 when he chased Simba away. He was very young at the time (I assume around 4-5). If so he must be around 10-11 at the moment. Is that very old by lion standards?

God Bless Notch, he is simply the best, what a boy.....a very sad day when he will no longer be around but fingers crossed he's around for a long time yet..just love that boy.

Thank you so much for all the updates. Wonderful of you and staff to keep up this work...it's heartfelt to know some of our favorits are still doing well. Even if starting a new generation, I look foward to the up coming years and follow these wonders and little ones. Jackson do you know if the BBC will still being following the Big Cats?? what about Simon & Jonathan will they be coming back bring us the Big Cats??? I sure hope so...I really love the whole staff with Saba too.

In the lions kingdom the strangest will always talk the lead. This will aply to Notch family as soon as he is not able to pass the test in fighting his sons of the girls they will talk control over his Father and that will not be a bad thing.
Notch boys have got a lot of little one around and the responsibility is big on there shoulders however dit not rule they will not head towards the marsh pride nothing can stop them from taking any pride they want in the mara its just a matter of time before they head that way and reclain the pride.

His now between 12 and 13 and yes it old for a lion in the mara with such competitions from other lions and hyenas.
In the wild 13-14 is big challenge for a lion so notch is getting mzee.
