The Marsh Pride

My Dear Friends, We had a very disappointing December 2015 with lose of Marsh pride member on Poison what a shame, As you can see from my last write up the prides are in big presure due to night grazing, this is the end result of it, Last week one of the guides from Main Govenors camp headed on his nomarl game drive to find Bibi dead and Allan frosting in his mouth, He call camp quickly for help and imagine the guest who had paid to come over to the Mara to see and Photograph this Cats, they call the vet from Defny Shaldrek Trust who came a little late due to distance but help was here at last, Allan was dong well until night when the Buffaloes discovered and Trumbull him to dust nothing was left of poor Allan, to this Date we had Lost Siana we think she may had move to cover somewhere and died and got finish by other predictors, Soon the news was break to all over the country and beyond every one new this a big blow to our nationa heritage and the rest of consevertion lovers, One thing every one must know about the Maasai Mara it have a big name in Kenya and out side the world, films had been made here best selling Photos had been made here in the Mara, In this regards we must all of us defied it with all of our power and strangth, f the Mara falls it will be like a very big tree follen and it take down a lot of trees where it falls, In history most of the time the County Authority manage to contain this negative news from reaching outside world but not this time round, Before it reach to the county HQ it's already coming from the headline all over the country and Oveseas, To this day they will have to take full responsibility for allowing cattle grazing in the famous Maasai Game reserve, I will believe when I see in a few month that there are no cattle in the National Reserve, I had there is a total barn during the day as well as during the night I will wait and see, This is just one of the reported incidents there many more we do not know however if the Prides are left a lone no interfere it will baunce back in a very short time, When One of Malaika Cubs get taken by a crocodile it Was sad to loose such a close friend but this is natural and we have to forget quickly but not BiBi this was very Painful and it will take us a long time to recover, Have a good coming Christmas and Very prosperous 2016. Asanti Sana Jackson Looseyia,

Dear Jackson, I'm so sorry for the tremendous losses of the Marsh Pride. What heartbreak... Did the people accused of poisoning the pride go to court? What happened? So sorry about Bibi, she was like wallpaper-always hanging around! Always close by and for so long too. Also Alan, poor fellow, just starting out. I wasn't sure anything could kill Sienna-she was so tough. This is obviously the beginning of a new era for the Marsh Pride, but it's very painful. I know they will bounce back quickly, because that is what cats do. You are all in my prayers.

Finally the main suspect was arrested and it will take them weeks in prison waiting the final investigation before the case proceeds,
This will teach them and the rest of the community a big lesson, the suspect will pay a megar fine or long sentence in prison upto 10 years,

It broke my heart reading on Jonathan Scott and your forum about the death of Bibi...the last of the Big Cat Diary stars. Maybe NOW is the time for a new formatting of the Big Cat Diary series, with updates at the beginning or end of what's happening in the Masai Mara at present. Look what happened with the killing of Cecil....$$'s poured into conservancy organizations to help. I was one of the contributors. RIP dear, dear Bibi

Dear Jackson I have been a big fan of the Big Cat Diary series and I still watch some of the videos today. It brings me almost to tears to hear about the immense losses in the Marsh Pride. It would be nice if Big Cat Diary came back onto our screens, I hope you have considered this. Do all these terrible events mean that the Marsh Pride is finished? What Cheetah stars do you still follow from the Big Cat Diary and who is now leopard queen of the Talic river?
Thank you

After the loose of the pride Members it had waken up many people from all over the world especially the big cat lovers, with this news gone out I am sure it will bring back big cat diary to the screen,
The marsh pride consist of 40 members strong meaning more than that, and we had lose 3 to poison but the rest of the pride is doing good they will still be there and very well protected,
The cheetah we follow now is Malaika a daughter of Kike and she had 6 Cubs lose five and two are now almost free from the mother,
The queen of the Talek River is Bahati she is Olive Daughter and she have now 2 small Cubs, so the Mara is doing well,

Thank you,

Jackson

thanks for your thoughts on this Jackson - it was very sad to read about the poisoning and loss of these 3 lions - particulary Bibi and Sienna - matriarchs of such an amazing pride! I know that all of you from Big Cat Diaries must've have felt the loss very deeply, as we followers did too!
I hope the pride can recover and survive!
All the best for Christmas and teh New Year and I look forward to travelling with you again in Feb!! Jackie

Its really bad to hear that poisoning still exists in Masai Mara. The rangers and park administration should be proactive to avoid human -wildlife conflicts so that they dont escalate to those levels. Again the community also needs to feel that this is their resource and are only hurting themselves when they poison lions....too bad.. I hope the pride has recovered after all. Thanks Jackson for updates.
