christmas updates

Dear My friends

After we have lost this species for years now there are evidence of a come back for the African wild dog.
This is the second endangered mammal in kenya may be in Africa after the Black Rhino.
Our Northern mara conservancy have now recoded a real come back of the real super hunter of Africa.
The news come in this morning and I am gland to share with you  fab.
In the next few months God willing I will be updating you about them too, since I will spend some of my time at rekero homes and it is the place they use a lot as there hunting ground.
Just like I wrote on the blog about the black and white colobus monkeys this are even more special news since they nearly got extinct in the mara, I am glad to well come them back after 20 years of lost.

Best wisher to you all and merry Christmas.

Salaams

This is just the best news ever Jackson. I really hope they stay around - we are coming to Rekero in February and it would be lovely to see them.

Have a wonderful Christmas and thanks for all the updates.

That's a great news ;-))
But they still suffer from their (false) reputation (cruelty, spreading diseases). Even Local Mara guides told me that they would be unhappy to see them again.
A lot of teaching remains to be done about these respectable creatures.

I was wondering why Big Cat Diary stopped broadcasting? Also, there are lots of sites with lists of episodes, but they are mostly messed up and Big Cat Diary's homepage has ones only from year 2008.

I have read numerous stories about how the wild dogs have been threatened by extinction. This is great news to hear their numbers are on the rise in your area. I hope they can really rebound from their low numbers. May the rest of Africa see their numbers rise also.

Dear Laikipia,
The dogs are a little far away from the reserve you would not be able to see then this time come another time and spend time with us up on the hills just for Wild dogs.

Dear Anonymous,
Just to let you in the last few years some of our cats have never been followed like I have done after big cat live we.
We new them and some went lost some died and some change territories like Tamu and her cubs.
Solo was a cub in the mash pride it was not in the Ridge pride the two names in the last big cat shows were Sala and Cheza.
Sala was smaller than Cheza and both are doing well as well as the rest of there brothers and sisters in the mara.
hope this will answer your Q,

Salaams Jackson
